Fashionistas will bring back more than just an outfit when they shop at the new luxury clothing store Carsi Collection.
Opened by Andreia Silva – the girlfriend of Nottingham Forest star Joáo Carvalho – the shop has its own scent that perfumes not only the rails, locker rooms and store, but also clothes, bags and even gift wrap.
Yes, anyone spending money in the Bridlesmith Gate store will take with them the specially selected aroma of vanilla leaves and tobacco – which doesn’t seem to work but actually smells delicious.
“I really wanted a signature scent for the store and we spent a lot of time looking for it,” says Andreia, 23, “I think it’s very important if you go to a store that the scent is perfect, the music is perfect, that it is a good experience for the customers. “
This is typical of the Portuguese businesswoman’s attention to detail. Indeed, the very name of the brand (founded by Andreia four years ago when she was a 19-year-old law student working part-time at another fashion store) is a fun mix of the names Joáo and Andreia.
Although Joáo never set foot near a tape measure, Andreia says her longtime boyfriend helped inspire some men’s clothing. The models on display in the display case wear the couple’s respective favorite outfits from the collection.
Prices start from £ 40 for a t-shirt from the athleisure wear range, up to £ 140 for a bespoke blazer dress from the party collection, which has 50 different pieces.
In April, a collection of balls will be added in hopes of attracting the class of 2020.
But it’s not just the clothes on offer in the new luxury boutique, which opened on Monday, February 3, in the long-empty premises of a former British Heart Foundation charity store.
Decorated with pastel flowers and faux foliage, Marketing and Communications Director Frankie Machin says the interior has already been a hit with those looking for quality Instagram content.
In the changing room area there are also bright pink neon signs reading ‘Ola Nottingham’ and ‘Escape the Ordinary’ alongside comfy velor seats for patient friends or family members and luxurious thick curtains that save buyers blushes.
It will also be the venue for guest makeup artists who will be on hand for special events including Valentine’s Day and prom season, to make shoppers feel more pampered and to help support other Nottingham businesses. .
This is a key issue for Andreia and her team, who are determined to use the store’s opening to bring Bridlesmith Gate back to life in anticipation of Broadmarsh’s reopening.
“We’re not competing with other local businesses and businesses in the area, we want to work together,” Frankie says. “We all offer something different.”
